Directions

Starting Point – Young and Jackson’s

To start your journey go to the Young & Jackson’s pub. Located on the corner of Swanson and Flinders St the pub is named after its previous Irish owners, cousins Henry Young and Thomas Jackson who bought the pub in 1875. Inside the pub you will notice the nude painting Chloé, which previously hung in the National Gallery of Victoria. Make sure to try out their range of craft beers, rooftop cider bar, or casual restaurant.

From Young & Jackson’s head west down Flinders St, turn right up Queens St and then west down Collins St.

About 70 metres from the Queens St intersection is the Sherlock Holmes. The Inn, which is located opposite to Bank Place, is a classic British style pub. It offers lunch and dinner and has a good selection of beers on tap.

From the Sherlock Holmes cross the road and walk down Bank Place. Here you will find the Mitre Tavern. The pub, which has been in operation for nearly 140 years is well known for its large beer garden and provides a nice resting spot to enjoy a drink or meal.

From the Mitre Tavern continue down Bank Place and then turn left down Little Collins St in a westerly direction. Cross the King St intersection and continue along Little Collins St until you reach the Saint and Rogue located at 582 Little Collins St.

The Saint and Rogue is an upmarket rustic style pub, which spans two levels with wood panelled walls and booths. Its unique atmosphere provides a nice place to enjoy a wine, beer or pub style meal.

From the Saint and Rogue continue down Little Collins St in a westerly direction before turning right down Spencer St in a northerly direction.

Finish – Mail Exchange Hotel

At the corner of Bourke and Spencer St is the Mail Exchange Hotel, which is where the journey ends. The Mail Exchange Hotel is a former post office converted into a hotel. With its unique signage and atmosphere, the hotel is a great place to relax before heading home.
